Inspector Isong Osudueh, attached to the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) in Owerri, Imo State, has been demoted following a widely circulated video showing him extorting money from motorists along the Owerri-Onitsha express road. The Imo State Police Commissioner, Aboki Danjuma, announced this disciplinary action, labeling the officer's behavior as "shameful and unprofessional."
Supervisory officers have also been issued an official query for lack of supervision, as the command condemns the officer's actions, vowing zero tolerance for extortion or misconduct by its personnel. Aboki emphasized that supervisory officers failing in their oversight duties will face severe sanctions.
The police boss urged residents to continue supporting the police and other security agencies with timely and actionable information to ensure public safety. He emphasized the commitment of the police command to maintaining professionalism, transparency, and integrity among its personnel.
