A popular Point of Sale (PoS) operator, known locally as Alfa, was tragically shot dead by gunmen in Adebayo Area, Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital. The incident occurred on Thursday at his shop located near the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).
This attack comes just four days after two gunmen killed an Okada riders' ticketing officer in the Okesa Area of Ado-Ekiti, highlighting a troubling pattern of violence in the state capital.
Eyewitnesses reported that three assailants arrived on a motorcycle, opened fire on Alfa at close range, and made off with an undisclosed amount of money and the victim's phones. A local source recounted the harrowing event, saying, "The people came on Okada and shot at him from close range, killing him on the spot. He was a popular PoS agent in this area because he always had cash."
