President Bola Tinubu has assured Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde of the Federal Government's support for the state's agricultural transformation efforts. The President also praised Governor Makinde for his dedication to development, particularly through investments in critical capital projects.

Speaking in Ogbomoso during the inauguration of the 76.67km Iseyin-Fapote-Ogbomosho road, named after former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, emphasized the importance of road networks. He noted that the country can only thrive when each state contributes to building essential infrastructure to improve people's daily lives.

Shettima highlighted the administration's commitment to supporting states in achieving their objectives and fulfilling promises to the nation. He acknowledged Oyo State's significant role in the national economy and affirmed that it remains a priority in the President's efforts to stabilize and promote unity and peace across Nigeria.

"Today we gather to reflect on the journey of progress. Our Federation can only thrive when each state actively participates in building essential infrastructure to facilitate our daily lives," Shettima said. He commended Governor Makinde for being a collaborative partner and investing in critical capital projects, appreciating the people of Oyo State for their warm reception.

Governor Makinde reiterated his mantra that "where roads go, development follows" and emphasized his commitment to building road infrastructure that connects all zones in the state. He revealed plans to construct roads linking the Iddo-Eruwa axis to Ibadan, inviting local and foreign investors to consider Oyo State as a prime destination.

"We are still working because we have to link Ibarapa zone to Ibadan. We are working currently on the 48Km Ido-Eruwa road, which will be delivered within the next seven to eight months," Makinde stated. He emphasized the ongoing development at the Fashola Agribusiness industrial hub and announced plans for similar projects in Eruwa and Ijaye.

Governor Makinde pledged to continue reducing the state's infrastructural deficit and to move more people from poverty to prosperity. As Oyo State celebrates five years of Omituntun, he promised to bring continued development to the people.
