President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive to state governors to present comprehensive plans within seven days aimed at enhancing food production across their respective states. This mandate was delivered during the 142nd National Economic Council meeting in Abuja, where Tinubu also introduced significant economic support initiatives.
The initiatives include a National Construction and Household Support Programme, earmarked to disburse N50,000 grants to 100,000 families per state over three months. Additionally, allocations totaling N155 billion will go towards procuring assorted foods, while N540 billion is allocated for household grants and N10 billion for CNG buses across all states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Tinubu emphasized the urgency of ramping up food production as a priority to alleviate economic challenges, promising robust support from the federal government to achieve tangible results.
