President Bola Tinubu has issued a stern warning to those fueling insecurity in the Sahel, stating that their time is running out. Speaking through National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu during a lecture in Abuja, Tinubu declared that both kinetic and non-kinetic measures are in place to address threats like Boko Haram, banditry, and kidnapping. "This is a warning to them. They have limited time," he said, emphasizing Nigeria's readiness to defend its citizens.
The lecture, organized by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), focused on the security challenges in the Sahel, with guest speaker Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas highlighting the roots of instability in the region. Chambas pointed to poor governance, corruption, and foreign interference as key factors contributing to the insecurity, while also commending Nigeria's efforts in combating these threats through regional cooperation.
