Nigeria has officially reverted to its old national anthem, "Nigeria, We Hail Thee," following the passage and signing of a new law. The House of Representatives passed the bill last week, and the Senate followed suit on Tuesday. President Bola Tinubu signed the bill into law on Wednesday, May 29.
The announcement was made during a joint session of the National Assembly celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Nigeria’s 4th Republic. The army band from the Brigade of Guards led members of the House of Representatives and Senators in rendering the old anthem, which will now be the country's official anthem.
