President Bola Tinubu formally inducted seven new ministers into his cabinet during a ceremony held at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja. Following their Senate confirmation last Thursday, the new ministers took their oaths of office in two batches.
The first batch included Idi Maiha, appointed as Minister of Livestock Development; Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State for Education; and Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. The second batch featured Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, who will head the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment; Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; and Muhammadu Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment.
These appointments follow Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle on October 23, in which 10 ministers were reassigned to new portfolios, five were dismissed, and the seven newly inducted ministers were nominated for Senate screening. This reshuffle and expansion of the cabinet reflect Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to address key sectors and enhance governance in Nigeria.
