President Tinubu’s Address to Joint National Assembly Deferred to June 12

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, announced on Wednesday, May 29, that President Bola Tinubu's address to a joint session of the National Assembly has been deferred due to an error on the part of the National Assembly. The president's visit was originally planned to commemorate the signing into law and official commencement of the old national anthem, which was reverted to by the new bill signed into law.

Abbas explained that President Tinubu's address, along with all other planned addresses, has been rescheduled to June 12, which is Democracy Day. The president has advised that all events related to the commemoration of 25 years of unbroken democracy be deferred to June 12.
