Sunday Asefon, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students’ Engagements, has urged for robust medical care for students injured in the recent school building collapse in Jos, Plateau State. During a solidarity visit, Asefon expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, describing the loss of life as deeply saddening.
The tragic incident at a primary and secondary school in Busa-Buji community, Jos North Local Government Area, resulted in 22 deaths and 132 injuries. Asefon visited the survivors receiving treatment at Plateau Specialist Hospital, Bingham University Teaching Hospital, and Our Lady of Apostles Hospital.

During his visit, Asefon engaged with the Chief Medical Directors of the hospitals, urging the medical staff to employ their best professional skills to save those with severe injuries and prevent further fatalities. He emphasized the importance of quality medical attention to ensure the injured recover fully.
Asefon also visited the scene of the collapse, Saint Academy Jos, to assess the situation firsthand. He expressed his hope for a swift recovery for the hospitalized victims and prayed for eternal rest for the departed souls.
