Lagos, Nigeria – August 30, 2024– Enterprise TV, in partnership with the Citizens Jones Usen Committee, is proud to announce a grand celebration in honor of Mr. Jones Usen, popularly known by his stage name, Citizen. As he marks 50 unbroken years in the broadcasting industry, we also celebrate his 75th birthday and the launch of his much-anticipated book, Citizen Jones: Selected Prologues.

Born on April 4, 1949, in Lagos, Nigeria, Citizen Jones Usen has become a towering figure in the world of broadcasting, politics, and analysis. His journey began in 1974 when he joined the old Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) after completing his studies in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). Over the decades, his exceptional presentation skills and distinct ‘antique’ diction have made him a household name, with a career that remains unparalleled in Nigeria’s broadcasting history.

Citizen Jones Usen’s illustrious career includes hosting some of the most popular shows in Nigerian media, such as Homo Politicus on Enterprise TV,  CtznJonesThisMorning on Radio Now 95.3FM, Kubanji Direct on Radio Continental 102.3FM, and Journalist Hangout on TVC News. He has also captivated audiences with his insightful analysis on CitizenJones on 98.9 Kiss FM, among many others. His ability to connect with his audience through his unique diction and in-depth political analysis has left an indelible mark on the Nigerian broadcasting landscape.

The celebration of Citizen Jones Usen’s 50th year in broadcasting will take place on September 21, 2024, at the Lagos State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ikeja, starting at 10:30 am. This event is set to be a momentous occasion, paying tribute to a man whose contributions to the Nigerian broadcasting industry are unmatched.
