Protesters Shut Down Governor’s Office in Akure Over Herdsmen Killings

Protesters have once again shut down the office of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State, in response to the killing of five farmers by armed herdsmen. The victims were shot dead on Wednesday morning in Aba Oyinbo, Akure North Local Government Area.

This protest follows a deadly reprisal attack earlier this month in which herdsmen killed several people in four communities across Akure North Local Government Area. In addition to blocking the Governor's office, protesters have also shut down the Akure-Owo highway at Ogbese, causing significant traffic congestion and stranding many motorists.

The protesters are demanding justice for the slain farmers and action to prevent further violence in the region.
