Real Madrid has officially denied recent comments attributed to Carlo Ancelotti regarding the club’s participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. In an interview with Il Giornale, Ancelotti was quoted saying that Real Madrid would not take part in the newly formatted tournament. However, the club has firmly refuted these claims.
In a statement on their website, Real Madrid clarified, “At no time has its participation in the new Club World Cup organized by FIFA for the next season 2024/2025 been questioned. Therefore, our club will compete, as planned, in this official competition that we face with pride and the utmost enthusiasm to once again make our millions of fans around the world dream of a new title.”
Ancelotti has also taken to social media to address the situation, indicating that his words were misinterpreted. He stated, “In my interview with Il Giornale, my words about the FIFA Club World Cup have not been interpreted in the way I intended. Nothing could be further from my interest than rejecting the possibility of playing in a tournament that I consider could be a great opportunity to continue fighting for major titles with Real Madrid.”
This clarification ensures that Real Madrid remains committed to competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, aiming to add yet another prestigious title to their illustrious history.
