Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has stated that the ongoing political crisis in the state has not deterred his administration's focus on governance. He made this declaration during a meeting with members of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions, led by Chairman Mike Etaba, at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

Governor Fubara emphasized that, as far as his administration and the people of Rivers State are concerned, the political crisis is insignificant. He likened the pressure from the crisis to a movie he watched, "Devil's Advocate," where pressure either makes people retreat or become more focused to succeed. He affirmed that his administration has chosen to remain focused and committed to serving the people.

He highlighted the empowerment of over 3,066 Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) through the N4 billion single-digit loan scheme with the Bank of Industry (BOI) Limited as an example of his administration's commitment to improving the socio-economic dynamics of the state.

Governor Fubara stressed that his administration's goal is to leave Rivers State better than they met it, emphasizing that leadership is about touching the core needs of the people. He expressed his desire for his legacy to be one of positive impact and service to the people.

He urged the committee members to be thorough, fair, and unbiased in their investigations, especially when addressing grievances from individuals who feel their rights have been infringed upon. Governor Fubara reiterated that Rivers State remains peaceful, attributing this to his leadership style, which he believes garners respect and love from the people.
