The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four suspects linked to the disappearance of Yahya Faruq, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving in Ikuru town, Andoni Local Government Area. Faruq, who was last seen on Monday, October 14, 2024, went missing eight days ago.

Faruq, posted to Mixed Secondary School in Ikuru town for his primary assignment, also worked part-time at LDM Chinese Milling Company in the same area. Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that an investigation is ongoing. The suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Mustache, has briefed NYSC officials on the arrests and efforts to locate the missing corps member.

The Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria has expressed deep concern, appealing for help in finding Faruq and urging for his safe return. Faruq’s family, friends, and colleagues continue to experience anxiety as the search for him continues.
