Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has declared his administration unstoppable, vowing to protect the integrity of the state against detractors. Speaking at the 2025 New Year Banquet in Port Harcourt, Fubara expressed confidence in the support of political leaders, including former governors Dr. Peter Odili and Sir Celestine Omehia, and other notable figures, as the backbone of his government’s successes. He assured that no opposition would derail the state’s progress under his watch.

Reflecting on 2024, the governor acknowledged challenges but emphasized that the year ended with significant achievements outweighing losses. He attributed these successes to the collective efforts of the state’s leadership and residents, reaffirming his commitment to the Rivers First policy. “We will continue to build a resilient state, not for personal gain, but for the collective good of our people,” he declared, emphasizing education and healthcare as critical areas of focus for 2025.

Fubara also highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and public services, such as the remodelling of the Fire Service and investments in education. He announced plans for project commissioning in February 2025, showcasing strides beyond road construction. He stressed that these initiatives reflect his administration’s dedication to securing a brighter future for the state’s youth and future generations.

In his remarks, Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, praised Fubara’s steadfast leadership amidst opposition. Meanwhile, Hon. Awaji-Inombek Abiante, representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, proposed a toast to the state’s prosperity and unity, urging detractors to join the administration in rebuilding the "Treasure Base of the Nation."
