Security agencies have successfully rescued all pupils, teachers and women abducted by terrorists in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The rescue operation also resulted in the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers, while several other members of the criminal group were reportedly neutralised during the operation.
The Presidency confirmed that the victims were released without any payment of ransom or prisoner exchange. It added that a wanted terrorist kingpin whose release was reportedly demanded by the abductors remains in government custody and is currently facing prosecution.

Authorities described the operation as a major breakthrough in ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping and insecurity across the country.
Further details on the rescue mission, including how the operation was carried out, are expected to be made public soon.
