Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Defies Ban, Thrills Supporters with Helicopter Arrival in Kogi

Despite the Kogi State government's ban on political rallies and restrictions on convoys, a massive crowd of supporters gathered in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area on Tuesday to welcome Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

In a dramatic turn of events, the senator arrived by helicopter, stunning the waiting crowd who had been eagerly gathered since the morning outside her country home in Ihima. The supporters, carrying placards and chanting her name in solidarity, defied police warnings and a curfew imposed by the Chairman of Okehi Local Government Area, Amoka Monday, ahead of her homecoming.

The state government had heightened tensions by banning public gatherings on Monday, citing security concerns and the possibility of disturbances. However, the senator remained undeterred, asserting her right to visit her hometown despite the imposed restrictions.

Earlier, Akpoti-Uduaghan took to social media to issue a strong warning, stating that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, and former Governor Yahaya Bello should be held responsible for any violence that may erupt during her Sallah celebrations.

"Nobody Can Stop Me From Coming Home"

Addressing the excited crowd in her native Egbira language, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her commitment to her people and dismissed any attempts to intimidate her.

“This is my home, this is my town. Nobody can stop me from coming home. I am the daughter of the late Dr. Abdul Akpoti,” she declared, resonating deeply with her supporters.
