Speaker Tajudeen Abbas Condemns Abduction of Nurses and Patients in Kaduna, Calls for Immediate Rescue

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has strongly condemned the recent abduction of healthcare workers and patients by gunmen in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred on Monday at the Primary Healthcare Centre in Layin Dan Auta village, Kuyello Ward, where bandits invaded the facility and kidnapped two nurses and an undetermined number of patients.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Krishi, Speaker Abbas expressed his deep concern over the rising wave of banditry in the region. He called on security agencies to urgently mobilize and rescue the abducted individuals, emphasizing the need for immediate action.

“The activities of bandits have become too rampant, especially with the last attack on vulnerable targets like a hospital,” Abbas stated. He urged the security forces to ensure that no Nigerian remains in captivity and stressed the importance of intensified efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism across the country.

The Speaker's call comes amid growing fears about the safety and security of citizens in various parts of Nigeria, particularly in regions plagued by frequent bandit attacks. Abbas urged for a sustained and coordinated approach to eradicate these threats and protect the lives of all Nigerians.
