Nigeria wrapped up their Group C campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in style, defeating Uganda 3–1 on Tuesday at the Fez Stadium in Morocco to maintain a flawless record.
Paul Onuachu gave the Super Eagles an early advantage in the 28th minute, tapping in from close range after connecting with a low cross from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru. The goal capped a strong first-half display from Nigeria, who controlled possession and created several chances as Uganda struggled to contain their pace and movement.
After the break, Nigeria raised the tempo and were rewarded in the 62nd minute when Samuel Chukwueze delivered a neat pass into the box for Raphael Onyedika. The midfielder showed great composure, taking a fine first touch before calmly finishing into the bottom left corner.

Just five minutes later, Onyedika struck again to make it 3–0. He pounced on another Chukwueze cut-back following a quick attacking move that also involved Onuachu, firing low into the bottom right corner from about 15 yards.
Uganda, who were already down to 10 men, managed a late consolation in the 75th minute. Substitute Okello released Mato, who calmly chipped the ball over goalkeeper Francis Uzoho to reduce the deficit. However, the goal came too late to spark any comeback.
The victory sees Nigeria top Group C with a maximum nine points, while Uganda finish bottom of the group and bow out of the competition.
