The Super Eagles secured a 2-1 victory against Ghana's Black Stars in an international friendly at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Friday night. The match, which saw the Black Stars reduced to 10 men, marked interim coach Finidi George's first win. Goals from Cyriel Dessers and Ademola Lookman sealed the victory, with Crystal Palace's Jordan Ayew scoring Ghana's consolation goal.

Former Bendel Insurance defender Benjamin Tanimu made his debut for the Eagles, while Wilfred Ndidi returned to captain the side. The win extended the Black Stars' winless streak to six games, in a disappointing outcome for recently reappointed coach Otto Addo.

The match was filled with chances, with the Eagles dominating early on. Dessers opened the scoring from a penalty in the 35th minute, and Lookman doubled the lead in the 84th minute. Ayew's late penalty for Ghana was not enough to change the outcome. Both teams will be looking to build on this match, with the Eagles set to face Mali on Tuesday, 26 March, in another friendly in Marrakech.
