Residents of Abuja are in for a historic celebration today as the Super Falcons, fresh off their record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, stage a grand trophy parade through the city.

The Nigerian women’s national team stunned the continent on Saturday night with a thrilling 3–2 comeback win over hosts Morocco in the WAFCON final, further cementing their dominance in African women’s football.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the triumphant squad and officials are scheduled to land at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by 12 noon on Monday, before embarking on an open-roof bus parade through major districts of the capital.

“We are making arrangements to have a trophy parade with the players and their coaches in an open-roof bus,” said NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi. “The route will cover Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market areas — all the way to the Presidential Villa.”

Fans along the parade route will have the unique opportunity to cheer the champions, see the iconic WAFCON trophy up close, and celebrate what has been described as one of the Falcons’ most memorable campaigns in history.

The tour is not only a celebration but also a symbolic recognition of the team’s grit, resilience, and historic legacy — and Abuja is set to roar with pride.
