The Super Falcons delivered a commanding performance, defeating Algeria 4-1 in the second of their international friendlies at Lagos' Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Long-absent Folashade Ijamilusi stole the spotlight with a hat-trick, marking her impressive return to the national team.
Starting strong under coach Farid Benstiti’s guidance, the Falcons showcased better poise and tactical control compared to their previous 2-0 victory in Ikenne-Remo. Ijamilusi opened scoring just 12 minutes in from a corner, doubling Nigeria's lead nine minutes later by capitalizing on a rebound from Blessing Ilivieda’s crossbar hit.
Despite Algeria’s push to close the gap, which included a missed penalty by Lina Boussaha, Ouassila Alouache found the net for Algeria just before halftime. However, Nigeria quickly regained a two-goal lead as Gift Monday scored with a powerful header in stoppage time.
The second half saw Nigeria dominate play, with Ijamilusi completing her hat-trick near the end of the match, securing an impressive win for the Super Falcons.
