In a swift operation, Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officers arrested an 18-year-old suspect on Friday, June 7, for allegedly stealing LED road stud lights from the Third Mainland Bridge. The suspect, Mubarak Abdullahi from Makoko, was found with ten LED lights used to enhance road visibility.
Abdullahi was reportedly caught in the act by RRS operatives patrolling the bridge. The arrest is part of increased security measures initiated by CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, Commander of the Rapid Response Squad.
In recent weeks, 24-hour bike patrols have been deployed to monitor traffic and protect infrastructure on the bridge. CSP Egbeyemi highlighted the importance of safeguarding public property and ensuring road user safety through vigilant policing.
