Three Men Arraigned for Allegedly Stealing N72 Million from Company in Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has brought Abdulrashed Waziri, 36; Richard Moses, 42; and Uche Sunday, 32, before a Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing N72.818 million from Saro Agro-Science Limited in Ganye LGA. The Chief Magistrate I in Yola, Mohammed Buba, is presiding over the case, where the defendants face charges of theft, misappropriation, and criminal breach of trust.

According to the police prosecution, Abdulrashed, a storekeeper; Richard, a market sales representative; and Uche, a van sales representative conspired to embezzle the company's funds. ASP Zakka Musa, the prosecuting officer, reported that Olajide Oladeji, the regional business head, informed the police after the location manager, Caleb Akinteye, discovered the theft on September 25, 2023.

The police revealed that the defendants sold company products worth N48 million, which was not deposited into the company’s account. Additionally, an audit uncovered that over N24 million worth of stock was missing from the warehouse, totaling N72.818 million in unaccounted funds. All three defendants have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
