Three youths were tragically killed by attackers in Rakok village, Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on Wednesday, marking yet another violent incident in the troubled region. According to Dalyop Mwantiri, National President of the Berom Youths Moulders Association, the victims were murdered while conducting their businesses within the community.
The Berom Youths Moulders Association condemned the attack, noting it is part of a disturbing pattern of violence that includes assaults on women and destruction of crops. The association called on security agencies to respond decisively to end these recurring attacks, which have plagued Barkin-Ladi, Riyom, Jos South, and other areas of Plateau State.
Mwantiri emphasized the need for urgent military intervention to prevent further escalation. He urged Operation Safe Haven, the joint security task force, to intensify efforts to address the aggression and prevent Plateau State from becoming a battleground of recurring bloodshed.
The association also appealed for an investigation, the arrest of perpetrators, and compensation for the loss of crops and stolen property, as well as medical support for the injured. As of now, neither the police nor Operation Safe Haven have issued statements regarding the incident.
