President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of board chairpersons for 42 federal organizations and a Secretary for the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services Board. The announcement was made in a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga on Friday.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, emphasize that the roles of the board chairpersons are non-executive, with a directive to avoid interference in the management of the organizations. The list includes prominent figures such as Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi for the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, H.E. Abdullahi U. Ganduje for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, and Sen. Magnus Abe for the National Agency for Great Green Wall.
The appointments also cover health, education, and infrastructure sectors, including teaching hospitals and agencies like the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the Federal Scholarship Board. Notable names like Barr. Festus Fuanter (National Teachers Institute) and Dr. Kayode Isiak Opeifa (Nigerian Railway Corporation) are among the appointees.
These appointments align with Tinubu's vision of bolstering governance and improving service delivery across key federal institutions in Nigeria.
