President Bola Tinubu has lauded Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), as a pivotal mentor in Nigerian politics during a reception dinner in Lagos. The event celebrated Olusi’s recent Honorary Doctor of Literature in History, Education, and Community Development from Lagos State University (LASU). Tinubu, represented by Senior Special Assistant on Media, Tunde Rahman, praised Olusi’s tireless dedication to community and state development.
First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu referred to Olusi as ‘Mr. Consistent,’ highlighting his wisdom and steadfast support for progressive leadership. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described Olusi as a leader who has consistently provided guidance to younger politicians and has been instrumental in the harmonious development of Lagos State over his extensive career.
The event also saw remarks from various dignitaries, including the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, state and national lawmakers, as well as family and associates of Olusi. Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized Olusi’s six-decade-long commitment to political leadership and his role in fostering inter-governmental cooperation in Lagos.
Prince Olusi’s illustrious political career includes roles as a former councilor, House of Representatives member, and leadership positions in the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and National Vice Chairman of the ACN.
