President Bola Tinubu awarded Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, for his outstanding performance in revenue generation and trade facilitation. The accolade was presented at the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service (NEAPS) held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing Tinubu, highlighted the importance of recognizing and rewarding excellence in public service. He stressed that public institutions serve the Nigerian people, not personal interests. Since his appointment in June 2023, Adeniyi's leadership has significantly boosted revenue collection.

Adeniyi expressed his joy at receiving the award and reaffirmed his dedication to enhancing Nigeria's economy through effective revenue collection and trade facilitation. He stated, "This national recognition motivates us to double our efforts and perform diligently in office."
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, urged the award recipients to continue their exemplary work. He noted that the selection process was based on objective criteria, honoring outstanding contributions from both public and private sectors.
