President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to implementing policies that will drive industrialization in Nigeria. In a meeting with the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers and the Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association, represented by a delegation led by Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Ms Doris Uzoka-Anite, Tinubu expressed his administration's dedication to revitalizing the automotive industry.

During the meeting in Abuja, where he was represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of producing locally manufactured vehicles of the highest standard. He urged the associations to focus on creating vehicles that are affordable for all Nigerians, aligning with the government's plan to offer consumer credit for vehicle and other essential purchases.

The delegation informed President Tinubu of their plans to commence local manufacturing of vehicles and spare parts in Nigeria. They also highlighted the ongoing drafting of a legislative bill, under review by the Federal Ministry of Justice, to support the automotive industry. This initiative aims to stimulate massive job creation for youths and reduce the country's reliance on foreign exchange.

Members of the delegation included the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr Oluwemimo Osanipin, and representatives from Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), as well as Executive Directors from Stallion Group, Toyota/CEAO, and NISSAN.
