Tinubu Resumes FEC Meeting After Six Weeks, Focuses on Economic Growth

President Bola Tinubu is presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting today, June 25, after a six-week hiatus since the last session. The previous FEC meeting, held on May 13 and 14, tackled numerous memoranda, approving over 20, including initiatives aimed at boosting economic growth through housing and infrastructure investments.

Almost all cabinet members are present, except Vice President Kashim Shettima and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. Key attendees include Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and Head of Service Dr. Folashade Yemi Esan.

Information Minister Mohammed Idris explained that FEC meetings will now occur on Mondays, contingent on having memoranda to consider. He emphasized that meetings may be skipped if there are no pressing issues.

Today's meeting is set against a backdrop of rising inflation, unresolved minimum wage discussions, and other socio-economic challenges facing the nation.
