President Bola Tinubu, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, issued a stern warning yesterday, declaring any attack on the armed forces or their personnel as an attack on the nation itself. He emphasized that such assaults would not be tolerated.

The President's statement came in response to the tragic killing of 16 soldiers during a peace mission in Delta State. Tinubu condemned the heinous act perpetrated by criminal youths in the Okuoma community and vowed that those responsible would face the full wrath of the law.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, among other stakeholders, also condemned the killings, describing them as barbaric and utterly unacceptable. Atiku called for restraint from the military in their response, advocating for the arrest and prosecution of the culprits.

The military continued its operation in Okuama community, searching for the perpetrators. The President extended his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers and assured the nation that the military high command was taking necessary steps to address the incident.
