The Lagos State Government has unveiled a traffic diversion plan for Adeniji through Falomo, including Bourdillon and Queens Drive on the Lagos Island. The diversion is necessary to facilitate the repair of deteriorated asphaltic sections of the roads.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the repair work is scheduled to commence on Monday, May 13, 2024, and is expected to last until November 7, 2024.

To minimize the traffic impact, the repair works will be carried out in phases. The first phase will focus on the stretch from Glover Road Junction on Alfred Rewane Road to Falomo Roundabout. During this phase, the portion of the road from Glover Junction to Falomo Roundabout will be closed to traffic.

Motorists on Alfred Rewane Road heading towards Falomo Roundabout will be redirected to turn left at Glover Road Junction onto Thompson Avenue to access Falomo Bridge through Bourdillon Road. The other side of the road, from Falomo Roundabout heading towards the Mainland, will remain open to traffic.

The commissioner has urged motorists to exercise patience and cooperation during this period, as the partial closure is part of the traffic management strategy for the rehabilitation of the affected road sections by the Federal Ministry of Works.

The Lagos State Government appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the public as it works to improve the road infrastructure for the benefit of all residents and commuters.
