A wedding in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State took a tragic turn as the bride allegedly poisoned food served at the reception, leaving one guest dead and the groom critically ill. The incident, confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Shi’isu Adam, is suspected to stem from a personal vendetta.
The police have arrested the bride and another female suspect in connection with the poisoning. They are currently being interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department as authorities investigate the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident. While most affected guests have been discharged from the hospital, the deceased's identity remains undisclosed.
Police spokesperson Adam assured the public that the command is committed to uncovering the facts and ensuring justice is served. “We are working tirelessly to investigate the case and will provide more updates as we make progress,” he stated.
