Fans are mourning the loss of veteran Nollywood actor Amaechi Muonagor, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 61. Known for his comical roles on screen, Muonagor had been battling kidney disease for some time.
Social media was flooded with tributes as fans expressed their sorrow over the actor's death. The Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, was unavailable for immediate comment on Muonagor's passing, despite attempts to reach him.
One social commentator, Morris Monye, lamented the loss of the talented actor and mentioned that efforts had been made to raise funds to assist Muonagor with his health challenges, including his need for a kidney transplant. Muonagor's health struggles had been evident in a viral video where he appealed for financial support for his medical treatment.
Muonagor's passing comes shortly after the death of another Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu. Nigerians have been expressing their grief over the loss of these beloved actors and highlighting the need for improved healthcare in the country.
