Three individuals have tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident in Ondo town, involving a fully loaded Nigeria Brewery truck that toppled onto a Golf 111 car at Liyetu area. The car, bearing the registration number BUR 852 TS, was carrying passengers headed towards Ondo town at the time of the incident.
Confirming the incident, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Ondo police spokesperson, revealed that one person sustained injuries in the accident. The deceased have been transferred to the General Hospital Morgue, while the injured passenger is receiving treatment at the Trauma Centre in Ondo town.
In response to the accident, the Police Motor Traffic Division of Enu-owa has initiated efforts to clear the heavy traffic congestion on the affected road. SP Odunlami-Omisanya emphasized the need for caution, urging all residents, especially commuters, to avoid over-speeding and reckless overtaking to prevent further loss of lives and property. The Commissioner of Police advised that arriving late is preferable to not arriving at all, emphasizing the importance of safe driving practices.
