Troops Raid IPOB/ESN Camps in Imo and Abia, Neutralize Commanders

Troops of the Joint Task Force Southeast, "Operation UDO KA," alongside other security agencies, have raided camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Imo and Abia states. During these operations, two IPOB/ESN commanders were neutralized, and arms and ammunition were recovered.

The raids, part of ongoing clearance operations to deter IPOB and ESN activities in the South-East, targeted camps at Ezioha-Eziama Village in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State. Troops, comprising the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Department of State Services, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, confronted and raided the camp of notorious commander Lucio Agu (aka B44) in the forested valley between Umuaka, Ezioha, and Awomama communities. During the firefight, commanders Asari and Mazi were neutralized, while others fled with gunshot wounds. Recovered items included AK-47 rifles, ammunition, CCTV cameras, and assorted charms.

In another operation, troops of Sector 3 of Operation UDO KA destroyed the IPOB/ESN camp at Ezere Forest between Umuawa and Aku settlements, spanning Okigwe and Ummuneochi Local Government Areas of Imo and Abia States. The irredentists fled into nearby bushes due to superior firepower. Recovered items included a General Purpose Machine (GPM) gun, assorted rounds of ammunition, motorcycles, and radios.
