The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has identified nearly two million undocumented immigrants for deportation as part of a continued crackdown on illegal immigration under President Donald Trump.
A document obtained by Fox News from ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) revealed that as of November 24, 2024, a total of 1,445,549 non-citizens were on ICE’s non-detained docket with final orders of removal.
Nigerians Among Top African Nationals Facing Deportation
Nigeria ranks second among African countries with the highest number of deportees, totaling 3,690 individuals, following Somalia, which tops the list with 4,090.
Other African countries with significant deportation numbers include:
- Ghana – 3,228 (third highest in Africa)
- Ethiopia – 1,987
- Democratic Republic of Congo – 1,785
Overall, Mexico has the highest number of deportees, with 252,044 individuals slated for removal.
U.S. Calls for Cooperation on Deportations
The U.S. government has urged affected countries to cooperate in accepting the return of their nationals, reinforcing its stance on immigration enforcement.
The large-scale deportation plan comes amid President Trump’s intensified push to strengthen immigration policies, a core pillar of his administration’s agenda.
With deportations expected to ramp up in the coming months, affected individuals may face forced removal unless granted legal relief or appeal options.
