Unknown gunmen stormed the family house of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, Kogi State, in the early hours of Tuesday. The attackers, reportedly armed with cutlasses and firearms, caused extensive damage to the building, smashing windows and creating panic in the area. The incident was promptly reported by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, who alerted the appropriate security agencies. Officers from the Okehi Police Division quickly responded to the scene.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Senate, has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
This attack comes amid heightened attention surrounding the Senator, following her recent sexual harassment allegation against the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
