Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has denied allegations of defamation against prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN. In a video posted on Instagram, he expressed his deep respect for Falana, whom he described as his uncle, and clarified that no defamatory statements were made.

The controversy arose after rapper Falz threatened legal action against VeryDarkMan on Wednesday, following accusations involving both Falz and his father, Femi Falana, in a bribery scandal linked to crossdresser Bobrisky and the EFCC. However, VeryDarkMan’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, clarified that the critic only questioned the validity of Bobrisky's claims in the leaked audio without intending to defame Falana.

In a formal statement, Adeyanju emphasized that the focus should be on investigating the serious allegations Bobrisky made in the recording, not on pursuing defamation. He highlighted that his client holds Femi Falana in high esteem for his human rights advocacy and rule of law in Nigeria.

Adeyanju further commented in a Facebook post, suggesting that Falz should address the claims with Bobrisky, acknowledging the phone conversation Falz admitted having with the controversial figure.
