Social media influencer, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has revealed that he has further evidence to back his claims about Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, regarding a voice note in which Bobrisky allegedly boasted about serving his prison sentence in a private apartment. VeryDarkMan announced on Instagram that he will release additional information from another source, further pressing for a deep investigation into the matter.
This comes after renowned human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, denied any involvement in the case. The controversy started when VeryDarkMan shared a voice note from Bobrisky, who claimed his godfather, alongside the Comptroller General of Prisons, arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence privately following his conviction for abuse of naira notes in April. Bobrisky also allegedly claimed that Falana and his son, rapper Falz, offered to help secure a federal pardon for ₦10 million.
Falana issued a 24-hour ultimatum demanding a retraction and apology, stating that he had never spoken to Bobrisky on any matter. In response, VeryDarkMan clarified that he never defamed the respected lawyer, emphasizing that he merely questioned Bobrisky’s claims and urged for an investigation into the allegations.
VeryDarkMan further stressed his respect for Falana and highlighted his efforts in exposing societal injustices. He reiterated that the purpose of sharing the voice note was to encourage transparency and accountability.
“I never intended to defame Uncle Falana, and I still hold him in the highest regard,” VeryDarkMan said. He expressed his desire for a thorough investigation into the involvement of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigerian Correctional Service, and Falana. He added, "If Bobrisky is lying, he should face the law for implicating such prominent figures."
Falana has yet to respond further to VeryDarkMan's statements, while the public awaits the promised evidence from the influencer.
