We Will Stand Tall in 2027” — Lagos APC Fires Back at PDP’s Patriotism Jab

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has declared that it will remain a dominant force in the 2027 general elections, despite what it described as desperate attempts by opposition parties to undermine its achievements.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Tuesday, the APC's Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Seye Oladejo, dismissed a recent press release by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) titled “No Patriotic Nigerian Will Vote for APC in 2027”, calling it misleading and politically motivated.

“Our attention has been drawn to a politically charged and deliberately misleading press release from the tottering, disjointed, and moribund opposition PDP,” Oladejo said. “While such rhetoric may make headlines, it lacks both substance and objectivity.”

He asserted that Nigerians would ultimately judge political parties not by “propaganda or emotional outbursts,” but by their proven track records, sincerity of purpose, and leadership capacity — areas in which he said the APC has consistently delivered.

According to Oladejo, patriotism is not defined by political affiliation but by a steadfast commitment to national development, peace, and democratic values.

“The APC has, over the years, demonstrated these ideals through various progressive reforms — from infrastructure development and digital transformation to agricultural revitalisation and social investments,” he stated.

He further described the PDP’s suggestion that no patriotic Nigerian would vote for the APC as “deeply insulting” to the electorate’s intelligence.

“Nigerians are discerning. They understand that governance is complex and evolving — requiring patience, vision, and adaptability. The APC continues to deliver responsive leadership to address economic challenges, enhance security, and drive inclusive growth,” Oladejo added.

While reiterating the ruling party’s openness to constructive criticism and public debate, Oladejo rejected any attempt to monopolise patriotism or link national loyalty to political choices.

“Our doors remain open to robust engagement, but patriotism is not the exclusive preserve of any party,” he concluded.
