Uchechi Kanu, the wife of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, recently visited her husband in the custody of the Directorate of State Service (DSS), thanking Senator Ifeanyi Ubah (Anambra South) for facilitating the visit.

Expressing gratitude to Senator Ubah for his role in facilitating the visit, Mrs. Kanu noted that her mind had been at rest since she visited her husband in April. She praised Senator Ubah for his leadership within the Igbo community.

Nnamdi Kanu has been in DSS custody since 2021 after being extradited from Kenya. Mrs. Kanu had previously been denied access to her husband but approached Senator Ubah, who promptly facilitated her visit.

During a radio address to their members in the United Kingdom, Mrs. Kanu thanked Senator Ubah and other Igbo politicians, governors, and political office holders who have shown concern for her husband's unlawful detention. She mentioned that many Igbo elites are working silently to secure a roundtable discussion for his release.

Confirming the visit, Senator Ubah explained that Mrs. Kanu had approached him for assistance in visiting her husband, which he promptly facilitated. He visited Nnamdi Kanu with Mrs. Kanu and their lawyer, Ejiofor, at the DSS facility on April 16.
