Wike Approves Immediate Payment of N70,000 Minimum Wage for FCTA Workers

In a move to enhance the welfare of Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) staff, Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate implementation of the N70,000 National Minimum Wage for FCTA employees.

The announcement, made via a statement by Mrs. Grace Adayilo, the Acting Head of Civil Service of the FCT, also revealed that the Minister authorized the payment of three months' arrears to all staff, effective from November 2024.

Adayilo emphasized that the decision reflects Minister Wike’s dedication to improving workers’ well-being and aligns with the "Renewed Hope Agenda" of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

"The timely approval of staff allowances and claims demonstrates the Minister's commitment to addressing the needs of employees, fostering a motivated workforce that can effectively support the Administration’s goals," she noted.

Staff members expressed gratitude for the development, viewing it as a morale booster that will inspire greater productivity in the delivery of public services across the Federal Capital Territory.
