Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and a key figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed his satisfaction with his role in President Bola Tinubu's administration. Despite being the only opposition member in Tinubu's cabinet, Wike stated on Saturday during the PDP Congress in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, that he has no regrets about working for the All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
The former Rivers State Governor was unapologetic about his decision to serve under Tinubu, even in the face of criticisms following his appointment. Wike emphasized his contentment with his position, asserting, "We are fully in government. We are fully in Tinubu’s government. I have no regrets about it, and I will continue to be there. Anybody who is angry should go and hug a transformer."
Wike’s appointment as FCT Minister has been widely viewed as a reward for his significant role in securing Tinubu's victory in Rivers State during the 2023 presidential election.
