Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello has requested the Federal High Court in Abuja to move his N82 billion fraud case with the EFCC to Kogi State. Bello, accused of financial misconduct during his tenure, argued through his lawyer, Adeola Adedipe, that the trial should take place where the alleged offenses occurred.
The EFCC had brought charges against Bello before Justice Nwite in Abuja, sparking the plea for transfer to Kogi. Adedipe emphasized that conducting the trial in Kogi would ensure fairness, given that the alleged crimes reportedly occurred during Bello's governorship.
