Yahaya Bello’s Return to Kogi Central Draws Massive Crowd for New Year Celebration

The Kogi Central Senatorial District witnessed a festive atmosphere as residents turned out en masse to welcome former Governor Yahaya Bello, accompanied by the current Governor, Usman Ododo, for a New Year celebration with his kinsmen.

From as early as 8 a.m., residents lined the streets of Okene, eagerly awaiting Bello’s arrival. Women, men, and children waved and sang in their local dialect, celebrating his return after meeting his bail conditions.

Bello's journey from Lokoja to his hometown, Okene, was marked by jubilant crowds, culminating in a grand reception at the palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland. The paramount ruler, alongside a multitude of residents, warmly welcomed the former governor.

Speaking in his local dialect at the palace, Bello urged the people of Kogi State to pray for their leaders, emphasizing the importance of unity among the state's diverse ethnic groups. He assured the community of Governor Ododo's commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy and improving lives across the state.

He also called on the people to shun social vices and support the administration of President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in the president’s policies and their potential to advance the nation.

The celebration underscored the deep connection between Bello and his community, reflecting a shared optimism for the future of Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
