The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams, has clarified his recent comments regarding the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Government, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, stating that he was quoted out of context. Adams explained that a voice note of a private conversation that went viral misrepresented his words.

Adams emphasized that the remarks about Ayinde financing Sunday Igboho’s agitation for Yoruba nation were hearsay and not verified. He stated that the conversation was part of a private discussion with a contact in the United States and was not intended for public dissemination.

The Aare Ona Kakanfo expressed shock over the editing of the voice note, which led to misunderstandings. He mentioned that the full context of his conversation, which lasted about an hour and a half, was not accurately portrayed, leading to confusion and misinformation.

Adams further noted that Tayo Ayinde, known for his reserved nature, has never publicly attacked him, making it unfortunate that Ayinde became entangled in the controversy. He lamented the spread of false information and stated his readiness to address the issue in court.

In conclusion, Adams reiterated that the information he mentioned about Ayinde was unverified and shared in confidence, emphasizing the need for caution in public discourse to avoid spreading misinformation.
