1. Army pulls out 10 retired generals in Lagos
The Nigerian Army Finance Corps held a colourful valedictory parade in Lagos to honour 10 retired senior officers.
Those celebrated include Major Generals KI Yusuf, AA Fayemiwo, J Mohammed, RN Ochei, MO Ihanuwaze, M Galadima, SA Gumel, and Brigadier Generals EA Obona, AS Maikano, and MK Baba-Mallam.
Speaking at the event, Major General Kamal Ishola Yusuf (retd.) described the parade as one of the most dignified he had witnessed, stressing that military tradition remains central to the Army’s identity.
The ceremony attracted top serving and retired officers, former Chiefs of Army Staff, corps commanders, captains of industry, and family members. Activities included a ceremonial march-past, group photos and a reception.
2. US lawmaker warns against separatist agendas in Nigeria
US Congressman Riley Moore has warned that efforts to destabilise Nigeria through separatist agendas could worsen insecurity and empower terrorist groups.
According to him, a weakened Nigeria would increase risks, especially for Christians and other vulnerable communities across the country and Africa.
Moore also praised growing security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States, describing it as a major step toward tackling violence and strengthening bilateral relations.
3. 2027: Kwankwaso supporters propose Obi-Kwankwaso ticket
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Kwankwaso Support Group 2027 has proposed a joint presidential ticket involving former Anambra governor Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The group’s leader, Abba Gwale, said the alliance could offer Nigerians a way out of insecurity, hunger and worsening hardship.
He argued that Obi’s strong influence in the South and Kwankwaso’s solid Northern base could form a powerful political coalition capable of challenging the ruling APC.
4. Shettima visits Kwara after deadly attack
Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Woro village in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State following a deadly attack that reportedly claimed at least 75 lives.
During the visit, Shettima commiserated with grieving families and assured residents that the Federal Government would pursue those behind the killings.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq described the victims as Muslims who were massacred for refusing to submit to extremist ideology.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier condemned the attack and confirmed the deployment of an Army battalion under Operation Savannah Shield to protect affected communities.

5. Nigerian man jailed in US over $6m inheritance scam
A Nigerian national, Tochukwu Albert Nnebocha, has been sentenced to 97 months (over eight years) in prison by a US court for his role in a $6 million inheritance scam that targeted elderly Americans.
US authorities said the scheme defrauded over 400 victims through fake inheritance letters demanding payments for supposed delivery fees and taxes.
Nnebocha was arrested in Poland in April 2025, extradited to the US in September, and pleaded guilty in November 2025.
The court also ordered three years of supervised release and restitution of more than $6.8 million.
