A coalition of civil society organisations, trade unions, youth groups, faith-based bodies, social movements and community associations on Friday took to the streets of Lagos to protest worsening insecurity and the rising cost of living across the country.
The demonstrators gathered at Ikeja Under Bridge, urging the Federal Government to take urgent steps to address what they described as the growing hardship faced by millions of Nigerians.
Participants expressed concerns over the increasing wave of insecurity, soaring inflation and the economic challenges affecting households and businesses nationwide.
According to the coalition, the protest was organised to draw attention to the worsening security situation, harsh economic realities and policies they believe are negatively impacting ordinary citizens.

Others displayed placards with the message, “Tinubu has failed Nigeria.”
The protesters appealed to authorities at all levels to place greater priority on the welfare and safety of citizens while implementing policies aimed at reducing economic hardship and improving living conditions.
The demonstration comes amid growing public concern over the increasing cost of living and the rising cases of insecurity being reported in different parts of the country.
