Chief Bode George, former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on selected leaders of the party to set aside their differences and work together to rescue the party from possible extinction. Speaking at a reconciliatory meeting of the party's elders and stakeholders in Lagos, George emphasized the need for unity within the party.
The meeting, which was attended by party Chairman Phillip Aivoji, aimed to address issues that led to the party's poor performance in the 2023 Lagos State governorship election. This was the first reconciliation meeting George attended following the election setback.
George, a life member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and a respected figure in the party, highlighted the importance of reflecting on past mistakes and working towards unity. He urged members across the country to unite and strategize effectively to ensure the PDP's survival and relevance in the 2027 elections.
Chairman Aivoji echoed George's sentiments, emphasizing that reconciliation is essential for building a stronger and more cohesive party. He stressed the need for forgiveness, understanding, and a collective commitment to move the party forward. Aivoji called on all members to embrace reconciliation as a foundation for rebuilding trust and solidarity within the PDP.
